We recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible; this is a popular event taking place in Moscow's high season and the city will be full.

You will NEED a visa for Russia unless you are a citizen of: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine or Uzbekistan and under certain circumstances Argentina, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Brunei, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Israel, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Thailand and Venezuela.

Remember to give yourself enough time to plan your visa and to make your travel arrangements.

All three of Moscow's major airports
are now connected to the city centre
by non-stop Aeroexpress trains.

Sheremetyevo Airport is connected to Beloruskaya Station - journey time is
35 minutes. Standard class fare is RUB 300 each way. Trains departure every 30 minutes from 0500 until 0030.

Domodedovo Airport is connected to Paveletski Station - journey time is 45 minutes. Standard class fare is RUB 300 each way. Trains depart approximately every 30 minutes from 0600 until 0000.

Vnukovo Airport is connected to Kievski Station - journey time is 35 minutes. Standard class fare is RUB 300 each way. Trains depart hourly from 0600 until 0000.

Russia’s leading airports growing by 27% in 2010

Last month Siim Kallas, the EU’s Vice-President of the Commission responsible for Transport, made a speech in Moscow criticising the country’s airline, airports, air traffic control and regulatory bodies and describing the EU’s relationship with Russia with regard to aviation as “a waste of opportunities”. However, despite this the last month has seen S7 become a member of the oneworld alliance, Aeroflot report a 65% increase in net profits for the first nine months of the year, Transaero report a 32% increase in passenger numbers for the first 10 months of the year, and passenger numbers at the country’s six biggest airports have grown cumulatively by 27% in the first eight months of 2010

It should be recalled that passenger numbers at Russian airports fell dramatically in the first half of 2009. Comparing 2010 data with 2008 data (January to August) reveals that Russian airport traffic is up a more modest 12%.
